  • Create plans and policies to guide future development in the University District

  • Express the needs of the University District to government agencies.

  • Reccomend solutions and changes to legislation.

AID & PROMOTE COMMUNICATIONS

  • Hold regular public meeetings

  • Hold public hearings on issues affecting the area 

  • Conduct public forums and surveys 

  • Solicit active cooperation of all segments of the area and city 

  • Initiate and support proposals which will enhance quality of life 

  • Promote and encourage local businesses

RECCOMEND PROGRAMS to enhance district

  • Review proposed capital improvements budget and reccomend changes

  • Make reccomendations for historic restoration and preservation

  • Review new or revised comprehensive plans affecting the area

REVIEW PRIORITIES FOR GOVERNMENT SERVICES

  • Request period reports concerning government services in the area.

  • Meet with departments or agencies to obtain additional information

  • Request full reports on any proposed changes in service or practice

  • Review and evaluate pending legislation prior to consideration by council

  • Review copies of applications and public hearings related to zoning
