The University Area Commission Planning Committee met at 7:00 at the Northwood and High building. The first topic of conversation was the large amount of trash and debris resulting from Move In/Move Out. After a short discussion it was ascertained that this topic of discussion was not the purview of the planning committee. The committee decided to refer the matter to the Code Enforcement Committee.
A short discussion of the removal of the traffic signals on Summit and North Fourth. Although there was some relief that the study of the Northwood/N. 4th intersection was delayed and a new traffic device would be installed there was still the overall notion that traffic was still too fast.
There was a discussion of the possible de-designation of N. 4th and Summit. However, the benefits of such a move may not be as fruitful in calming traffic as hoped.
